Our local school was so kind to hold a book signing during the family picnic. I sold 21 books.  Not bad for a couple of hours work. I have been having so much fun.

I am PTO President at one of the local elementary schools and just wrapped up our final event. Health Fest/End of year party. It was a blast. Now I can concentrate on having fun this summer. I do need to organize my office. Paperwork every where. I have notes on stories. Folders with library renovation stuff I need to look at, pto papers to file and take to the school, Friends of the Library stuff, and scholastic book fair info. I am in charge of the Book fair the Friends are hosting at the library at the end of the month.  Chicken barbecue fundraiser that same week. Busy busy. After that its relax for a while and enjoy my children for the summer.

I have completed my second book and working on final edits. I have a wonderful new Illustrator Kelly Murray. She has completed three illustrations for me. I hope to have it out this fall. Here is a sneak peak of my new coverWell its time to say good bye. Bless WB

I love Friday

Standard

Last week I spoke at the school to find out I was the only guest for the assembly. 200 kids plus staff for 40 minutes, I kept their attention the entire time. It went very well. The kids loved my book “James Saves the Moon” and talk. I promised the kids I would have my first book signing at our school. They all jumped and yelled. One third grade child has already written 3 pages for his book. Made my day. I want kids to know they can be what ever they want to be when they grow up. With these troubling times its difficult to remain hopeful. But with out hope there in nothing. My dear sweet illustrator is making a wonderful large print of the recent newspaper picture and article.

I found out today, my book is finally go to print. Will take about 3 weeks before its available on Solstice Publishing and Amazon. I am really excited about that. I can hit the road with actual print copies and my electronic version on my nook.

I have a new illustrator since Mr. Weidman retired. I hope she will work out.

My kids have been on spring break this week. Very challenging to get edits done. Only one page. But it has been nice to have lunch and goof around with them. I did get some of the business end stuff done so that is good.

My cat Fred has been shedding so, I think some warm weather may be on the way her to BR, Michigan. Been a long long long winter

James Saves the Moon is available at solsticepublishing.com for only $3.99

That is about it, Hope everyone has a fun sunny weekend.

Great Day Today

Standard

Great day today. The school that I am PTO President at asked me to do a presentation on my book for the March reading Month assembly this week. I was a nervous wreak. How to keep 200 kids occupied for 45 minutes. Well it just went great! Good questions and comments from Teachers and Kids. Lots of hugs from kids in the hallway at the end of the day. I got a standing ovation at the end when I said when the book goes to print I will have my first book signing her at Riverview. WOW!

Currently my book is available for electronic download from here is the link.

Crazy Busy

Standard

Greetings,
I just had to let go of an illustrator. I was rather bummed since I thought we were going to work well together. So now I will look for another illustrator. Hoping a student at our local University is interested.
My kids have been home a lot lately. We have had many snow days this winter, so editing my second book has been off schedule.
The city I live in always seems to need help. I just found out I am on the short list for the Library renovation committee and Library fund committee. I am already Vice President of Friends of the library,PTO President, Chairperson for Playground Renovation, Vice co-chair for a political party. I just had a birthday and it was a blast.
Well I better get back editing.

Travel along with James up the mountain, soaring through the air with his friends he meets along the way to reach the moon.

Children who have read “James Saves the Moon” enjoyed the story. It is wonderful to see children enjoy a story with their big bright eyes open wide and huge smiles. They enjoy finding the dragon on every illustration. Just more fun added to the adventure.

A 3rd grader the other day, told me she read  it and love it, wanted to know when she could have it in print. She wants to add it to her book-case. I said I hope soon!

I am just waiting on the publisher to release it in print format!

I am currently editing my second story. Hope to have this completed by April.  This adventure will take the readers inside a mountain in Iceland with James, and will be as delighted as James in what he discovers with his two pals from the first story. Still working out Titles It may be called Helga Returns or Yamas. I will know when the final edit is complete.

Hope everyone enjoys my musings and stories.

Bless-Goodbye in Icelandic
