Loss dePlott Adventures !

Standard

Good Day Folks,

As you know I am an author, who has 5 magical illustrated adventure chapter books available for children ages 7-12. And I am fortunate that many adults have enjoyed my tales.

I get asked to read many books and I do love to read. I have encountered many talented authors. But every now and again I discover a truly gifted author. Their stories take you away from you daily grind or troubles instantly.  Open up your imagination and take you on magical wondrous journey. One of the gifted authors is Stephan J Myers and his Loss dePlott Adventures. If you are looking to escape or looking for a book for your children to read I highly recommend his books. I was feeling down and wanted a pick me up so I decided to read The Colour Gold. I loved traveling with Loss and Ted following the Gold Star on a wonderful bike to find magical books of dreams and much more. Quote from the book “The strangest bike you have ever seen, with gold bells and whistles and wings painted green.  Holding on tight she searched for that star, knowing her journey would take her afar.”

index The magic of children’s books comes to life with a magical library in a faraway land in Loss De Plott & The Colour Gold. An extraordinary blend of images and words that will dazzle readers young and old from the very first page as Loss embarks on her third adventure with the magical Book of Dreams. With talking books, a rather special star and of course Ted, Loss learns that books and the words inside them are more precious than gold.

I want to thank the gifted Stephan J Myers for sharing his magical tales with us all. It was wonderful to leave all my problems for a while on a magical adventure with Loss dePlott and Ted.

Just a little update. I am currently working James and Syvok book 6. Magic Carousel. James and Syvok have a wild magical adventure while on vacation in the states. Must save a mermaid and who was turned to stone and placed on a carousel. James insists the ogre who saved the mermaid before they both were turned to stone should be rescued too. Many of his Icelandic friends will show up to help.

Thank you for stopping in today. Enjoy the Adventure the every day brings you. WB

 Good Day Folks.

Have You Ever Seen a Firefly? By Debbie Estrem
Illustrated by Kim Sponaugle  Adventure!
4 stars
Have You Ever Seen a Firefly is a fun read for preschool to early reader. Is a sweet book that asks if you have seen or done things? It explores the adventures and questions that kids have. I like the ending. “Have you counted the stars at night” It encourages dreaming, adventure and exploring and could lead to learning and discussions of the little exciting things young ones experience. The illustrations by Kim Sonaugle are beautiful and full of the little adventures we all have ,even enjoying chocolate pudding. They really enhance the book.

Something Scary in Frogville Adventure!

Good Day Folks,

Something Scary in Frogville by Perry Perkins 5 stars

Now I know what a frog town is like.  Sure enjoyed my adventure at Frogville

The story is filled with descriptive fun characters.  I enjoyed the story. The illustrations enhance the story. Your reader will enjoy the story, and learn that things are not what they appear to be.  Being nice to someone who may stutter, or is clumsy does not mean they are scrary or cannot help.  The lesson is woven nicely into the exciting story.

Children ages 7 to 9 and adults will enjoy this story.

Frogville is having a rough year. It is and the fish have moved to the center of the nearby lake so the frogs fishing poles do not reach where the fish are.  So they must eat greens and cabbage mostly. Then to top it all off there is something  big in the woods at the edge of frogville, which is close to the Bugaboo’s home.  The Mayor decides that Bumblefoot Bugaboo will investigate and slay the stranger. Bumblefoots real name is Bartholomew but everyone called him Bumblefoot because he had large feet and tripped often. The Mayor gave him the great spear  as he reminds Bartholomew the battle to claim their town. That evening when Bartholomew and his younger sister Emma hears the sounds he sets out to find the stranger. As Bartholomew is thinking of how to confront the huge beast his sister  appearsand starts asking questions. They find out what he is and why he is there.  They discover  Neville a Nutinia and he left his home because he was picked on by the way he spoke. He stuttered. Then he lost his glasses in the lake and can’t  see very well. They become friends and they take him to see the Mayor.Frogville folks get their fishing poles out and Emma finds his glasses. Then Nelville puts them on and swims out with his fishing net and brings back a net full of fish. The Mayor decides, they must have a community meal and invites Nelville to join. Reveiw adventures!

 Good Day Folks,

487958_10152105377558056_470157528_n First I want to let you all know my ebooks are all on sale The sale ends October 1. Links are below. I thought I would share something I have discovered about authors. When most of submit us our books to reviewers, we all of sudden become nervous wrecks. I do. While I wait all of sudden I am insecure about my writing. It does not matter how many say I love your books, or my kids love your books. It does not matter we are waiting for that one review that will crush us for a little while. These are the emotions I go through.

They will hate, the story is to long, they catch some grammatical error,  etc.  This will be the one where a nice reviewer emails me and says I really do not like your story so will not review instead of posting a 1 star review. Then I  try to convince myself it I can only learn from this and do better. These are the thoughts I have and I know many others do. Authors are a insecure bunch.  But this is good, it makes us better writers.

Well so far I have be very blessed. None of these images in my head have come true.  My reviews have been outstanding and criticisms have been very helpful. I want to thank all who take the time to review, share and spread the word that children will love my stories and hopefully let them explore the adventure.

“The color of the illustrations by Jim Weidman and the very well-written story by Wendy Nystrom make “James Saves the Moon” a rare treasure for a children’s picture book.

The biggest advantage of adventure stories is that they encourage children to think and be imaginative. It gives them the freedom to dream, experiment, think differently, and create their own characters. I found the little trolls and dragonets very interesting and they add to the whimsical quality of the story.”
