Authorpalooza,Cover Reveal Adventure and travel soccer!
StandardGood Day Folks,
Wow, what an adventure of late. Seems non stop. I have been enjoying being one the organizers of local Authorpalooza events at my local library.
It was suggested at the Friends of Library meeting we should do something different for our annual membership meeting. So threw this out and it was supported.
Not only am I working with two great ladies, my luck continued. 4 Ferris State University Hospitality Students contact me wanting to help.
Just about everything is ready. We now have 20 talented wonderful authors coming to our newly renovated library Nov. 8th. People can come visit with and/or purchase signed copies of their books from the authors. Door prizes, children activities, cookies. The tables are assigned, flyers are out, authors interviews will be played on the radio station Y102, yard signs should be up. Here is the list of Michigan Authors coming to Big Rapids Community Library. They are a talented great group and easy to work with too. Check them out on amazon if you don’t live in the area. Here is the facebook event link if you wish to take a look and join. https://www.facebook.com/events/270591943139935/

Waffles and Pancakes: A Lesson in Bullying by Cindy Sprinsteen Adventure!
StandardGood Day Folks,
Cindy Springsteen is Kidtales’s featured author this week. https://www.facebook.com/Kidtales
Waffles and Pancakes: A Lesson in Bullying By Cindy Springsteen
Waffles and Pancakes, along with Danny and Griffin, their owners, as they come face to face with a couple of bullies; Tom and his guinea pig, Oscar. Will Waffles, Pancakes, and their owners be able to become friends with Tom and Oscar? Find out when you read Waffles and Pancakes: A Lesson In Bullying.
This sweet story has Two hamsters Waffles and Pancakes who are friends. They encounter a Guinea Pig Named Oscar who is not very nice and appears to be a bully. The story also involves the rude behavior of the owner of Oscar towards Waffles and Pancakes owners. Poor Waffles and Pancakes are so upset that they make themselves ill. Just like many kids do when they encounter bullying. What I like about this book is they work to resolve the bullying by asking questions without bullying back. They discover their was a reason Oscar was unkind to them as do the owners of the pets with parent helping the boys become friends. I recommend this story for early readers. It is presented well for ages 4 to 7. This book is a good story and a good way to bring up the topic of bullying with young children.

Cindy Sprinsteen’s first book is Waffles and Pancakes: A Lesson in Friendship
Waffles and Pancakes are two hamsters, from the same pet store, that went to their new homes on the same day. They also happen to be the best of friends. In their first adventure, their owners became best friends, too. Together the four learned the lesson of true friendship. Now Waffles and Pancakes, along with their owners, are about to learn another lesson, A Lesson in Bullying

Wonderous Wednesday Children Adventures! Petal the Owl by Joy Findlay
StandardGood Day Folks,
Today our Wondrous Wednesday Adventure is Petal the Owl by Joy Findlay. It is a delightful nature adventure. Your preschooler will adore Petal the Owl, as she investigates her surroundings and discovers how wonderful nature is. All five of these books are a fun. You and your child will learn with Petal about summer, winter, nature, colors and counting. The illustrations are vibrant and full of color, patterns and shapes. It will engage you and child in conversation of things they see in the illustrations. I think preschoolers would have you read these books over and over. Early readers would enjoy reading these books too. I highly recommend this compilation of Petal the Owl books. You also can buy them individually on amazon.com. Take a look at other Findlay books as well. Just click on Cover and it will take you to the link on amazon.
A little about the author Joy Findlay ~
“As a fulltime mother of two gorgeous pre-schoolers, a career in Television and Video Production was no longer an option. Having taught the basics of the Moving Image, it was just a matter of transitioning those same skills over to a static medium that was creative and flexible enough to work from home.
Kiki (3) and Zoozoo (4) provide the inspiration and direction for most of the children’s eBooks created under Findlay Books. Their thirst for learning and adventure never ceases to amaze me.
So now, I write and illustrate a line of children’s eBooks especially for my two squidlettes. In the hopes that others actually like them too and would like to let me know, we have set up a website http://www.findlaybooks.com and a facebook page http://www.facebook.com/findlaybooks
Joy Findlay lives in beautiful New Zealand with her husband, her two children and their rescue cat ‘Buddy’.
You can also keep up with Findlay books on facebook. https://www.facebook.com/findlaybooks
Enjoy the Adventure, WB
