Good Day Folks

Just wanted to update you all. I loved Cecilia Spark. Can’t wait to download the Second book. The Adventures of Cecilia Spark – the Mystical Mountains of Terra (Volume 20) It is available in print right now. I think most kids will love this book. Reading level 2nd grade through 6th grade.

A little about the Author Nagaire Elder:

I was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. I spent most of my childhood playing outside with my brother and my imaginary friends and feasting on my granny’s homecooking.
I remember the magpie that followed me round my garden one summer and the day my grandpa found the wild bunnies which I had captured and hidden in my bedroom.
After leaving school I went to college and university (part-time) and embarked on a career in the health and safety sector, qualifying in 1993.
I met my husband through my work and we have 4 children.
Now I spend my time looking after my family, taking care of our collection of animals (3 dogs, 1 cat, 2 horses, 2 pigs, 3 ferrets and 1 budgie), nurturing our kitchen garden, learning Spanish, speaking Spanish, reading and writing.

This is my first children’s book and the first in the new series – The Adventures of Cecilia Spark.
I am currently working on Cecilia Spark’s 2nd adventure, which is called The Adventures of Cecilia Spark – THE MYSTICAL MOUNTAINS OF TERRA (updated 17 May 2012).
I published book 2 in my series in October 2012 – the Mystical Mountains of Terra is now available as a paperback (updated 01 Nov 2012). Join Cecilia Spark on her 1st BIG adventure.

Wonderous Wednesday Children Adventures!

Good Evening Folks,
Sorry my adventure is being posted so late. I have had one busy day and many interruptions.

Tonight my children’s adventure is a wonderful book about Bullying.

Waffles and Pancakes: A Lesson in Bullying by Cindy Springsteen.

This sweet story has Two hamsters Waffles and Pancakes who are friends. They encounter a Guinea Pig Named Oscar who is not very nice and appears to be a bully. The story also involves the rude behavior of the owner of Oscar towards Waffles and Pancakes owners.  Poor Waffles and Pancakes are so upset that they make themselves ill. Just like many kids do when they encounter bullying. What I like about this book is they work to resolve the bullying by asking questions with out bullying back. They discover their was a reason Oscar was unkind to them as do the owners of the pets with parent helping the boys become friends. I recommend this story for early readers.  It is presented well for ages 4  to 7. This book  is a good story and a good way to bring up the topic of bullying with young children.

This book is available on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Waffles-Pancakes-Lesson-Bullying-ebook/dp/B009CIWL2G/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Good Day Folks,

Today I am starting Wondrous Wednesdays. I will show case a children’s story every Wednesday.

My first children’s book adventure to report on is Jaimie Hope’s book The Adventures of Baby Jaimie; Baby Jaimie Goes to the Hospital. Published by Anchor Group Publishing.

This book will be available on amazon October 22nd.

Baby Jaimie is a delightful child who nearly always has a positive attitude and nothing stops her from moving forward. Not even her wheel chair.

In this story she is excited that summer vacation is going to start and has many plans. But those plans are halted by an illness. She is disappointed and must face her fears of going to the hospital for surgery. With the support of her family and friends she overcomes her fears and pain and bravely conquers her fear. She plays with the other children in the hospital, asks questions about her care. Yes her summer vacation is delayed a few days.  Baby Jaimie leads you down the positive path that tomorrow she will be ready to enjoy her fun adventures. The author draws you in with children’s real fears they have about life’s troubles. She addresses those troubles honestly while entertaining you or a child at the same time. I highly recommend this book for all children. Because all children like to have fun but at the same time children have troubles that they want to understand. Baby Jaimie Adventures series  addresses children’s concerns.

When Millie’s younger brother finds her
diary on her computer, he decides to publish it as a blog for the entire
world to see, including the boy Millie has a crush on. In the midst of

Side Kick Adventure

Standard

Good Day Folks,

Well I guess today is talk like a pirate day.  Shivery me timbers I have to wait until November for Stacey Rourke’s next Gryphon story. But alas mateys she has a short companion side kick story to tie us over. This adventure let us know who, what , when, where and how, Celeste’s sidekicks are doing in their day to day routine. Their is a surprise ending for us too and we are all invited. If you have read Conduit and Embrace you will love Sidekick Chronicles Gryphon Novella.

Download it today its only 99 cents and a fun quick read.
http://www.amazon.com/Sidekick-Chronicles-Gryphon-Novella-ebook/dp/B0099S7J9O/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348062268&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=side+kick+by+stacey+rourke

Now you can read about these sidekicks. Let’s talk sidekicks. I have many side kicks. Some folks consider me a leader.  I always considered my self a support member but I guess I do like to build teams to accomplish a goal. When I have a team I assess their strengths and weakness’s. Once I know what folks can do well, I let them run with those gifts and ignore their weakness’s. Once I build the team I  prefer to take a roll of cheerleader as goals are accomplished and let some one else take the stage. I take the lead when a ship is taking on water  and fix the leak and move the ship forward. I do not like to let good ships sink. Or I jump abroad full speed ahead of a well running ship like Anchor Group Publishing. When I hired There for You Editing. Dear sweet Melissa Ringstad suggested I send my stories to Anchor Group. Best advice I received. Been smooth sailing ever since. Anchor Group with Stacey Rourke as captain and Melissa as her first mate is one well run ship. I am glad I was allowed to jump abroad.  I also have been enjoying teaming up with three other kids authors. Cindy Springsteen, Jodi Stone and I are sailing along as a sidekick ship to Anchor Groups Big ship and have  been building a promo crew called  Lil Anchors. It has been so much fun and all of our crew have been spectacular. Big Thanks go out to the Lil Anchor Crew  they are a fun bunch, creative and help  promote our books. I prefer to stand in the back of the room and watch what was started or pushed forward and see the faces of success.  I surround myself with people who are willing to move forward on a project. I am lucky so far I have not made to many enemies along the way.  Mostly very good friends.

As you set sail on your adventure remember to fill the ship with lots of side kicks. WB

Next up is Ethan’s Story: My life with Autism, By Ethan Rice

http://www.amazon.com/Ethans-Story-Life-With-Autism/dp/098553852X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344519132&sr=8-1&keywords=ethans+story+my+life+with+autism

This book is written from an child’s point of view and Ethan did a fabulous job  relating his story.  The book is colorful and fun. While at the same time teaches us the struggles and misunderstanding of children with autism. My girls read the book and thought it was quite interesting. They have an autism program at their school. And at times would come home and ask why did a AI child to this or that. After reading the book and being exposed properly at school they now have a better understanding and realize these children have the same struggles as they do in school. They  just have a different way it is portrayed in the public.  I found this read insightful, fun and interesting. And Yes Ethan we are the way we are and its a good thing we all have special gifts and struggle. I am purchasing this book for our schools Autistic program at the school. I hope the school will incorporate the book at the school and use it as a learning tool. You can keep up with Ethan’s adventures on Facebook  at https://www.facebook.com/EthansStoryMyLifeWithAutism

Next up in Stacey Rourke’s book Conduit-Gryphon Series. I was going to review Embrace. Conduit is the first in her exciting Gryphon witty series so I decided to start with Conduit.

Friday The 13th a Day of Luck Really!

Standard

Lucky Friday the 13th adventure.

I learned earlier in the week via my lovely children. Every month that starts with a  Sunday there is a Friday the 13th in that month. Always feel lucky when I learn something new.

13 has always been a lucky number for me.13 looks cool too. Many of us begin the adventure of change from child to adult at 13. It is truly a magical number. So enjoy the adventure.

As you know from my previous post. I signed on with Anchor Group Publishing. My books are scheduled to be released in 2013. Two of my kids books have 13. The first one has 13 illustrations and Tomfoolery has 13 Icelandic yule lads and 13 illustrations. I guess Helga Returns just needed 16 illustrations to make the story  come alive.

I am heading out to purchase my 13 lotto tickets.

Have a lucky adventure today. WB

Friday the 13th Love it!

Standard

13 is a number I like. Always been a good and lucky number for me.  Its odd like me.

My girls started out Friday the 13th by petting Fred the Black cat. Poor Fred they mauled him as he was trying to get in from outside. He was delayed taking his early morning nap in the basement. He looked at them as if they were insane. When they were done he zoomed down to the basement to sleep in the saucer chair he likes facing the stairs.

Two of my Books have 13 illustrations. James Saves the Moon has 13 including the cover.

Tomfoolery and 13 Yule Lads of Iceland has 13 illustrations, 13 yule lads and 13 chapters.

I should have paid more attention to Helga Returns and made sure there were 13 illustrations in that book too. Hindsight is 20/20.

All three of my kids books will be released late June or early July in e book and print. Pretty excited about that!

My novel I am working on New Moon Brethren probably will have 13 in there somewhere.Maybe I will have the wolf child become the leader and will unite the packs on Friday the 13th under the new moon that the New Moon Brethren have been raising and protecting since his parent died.

All if all on this Friday the 13th I have having a grand day.

I purchased 13 potted flowers today. 10 went to the front of the local elementary. 3 in a pot in the front of my house.

A student at the university contacted me and wanted my opinions for an essay she is writing about  children’s literature. This is a honor. A  professor to send her my direction.  I just happen to have written a  couple of children’s books I would not consider myself an expert on the subject. I answered the questions and enjoyed myself. I always like being in touch with the students.

I have been reading many submissions and enjoying this too.

All and all I would say Friday the 13th is a very good day for me and I petted Fred the Black Cat too. I of course waited until he was done with his nap and demanded attention by jumping on my desk and sticking his head over the top of my monitor.

Don’t forget to check out Aprils Edition of Supporting Authors One Read At A Time Magazine. Some real good articles.  http://www.wonderfulreadofthemonth.blogspot.com/

I am off to buy 13 lotto tickets.

Enjoy 13 things and 13 adventures today. WB
