Einstein & Moo, Author Jennifer Milius Wild Adventure!

Standard

Good Day Folks,

Time to introduce two fun cats Einstein & Moo book series written by children author Jennifer Milius. Your kids will love the adventures.

Jen Milius and the Einstein and Moo Children’s Book Series
Lets meet introduce the two main characters
and real life kitties – Einstein and Moo.
Einstein is a flirty, nosey cat with some white around his mouth
and very white whiskers, thus how he got his name.
He is quite talkative and will talk even more when it is close
to mealtime; sometimes, he will play fetch. Moo is short for Mooshu,
the name of the little sidekick in Disney’s Mulan,
although this Mooshu is more like the second sidekick in Mulan
named Cricket who is sweet and gentle. My Moo squeaks
more than meows, and she loves to climb in your lap and snuggle for hours.
Einstein & Moo and the Quest for the Catnip is the latest release
from the Einstein and Moo children’s book series,
which is about two black-and-white, brother and sister kitties
that are playful, curious, friendly and have many interesting adventures.
Einstein & Moo and the Quest for the Catnip is book three within the series
and is about Einstein and Moo’s favorite treat, a green leafy plant called catnip. It grows outside, and even though they are indoor kitties, they want to find a way to get outside and have some. This may mean that they have to be creative and help each other, but to them, the treat is worth it!I was inspired to write about our kitties because of my love for animals, storytelling, children, and books. To me, when someone shares a book with a child, they share an act of love. So for this particular book, I was inspired by how much Einstein and Moo love the fresh catnip that my family grows in a little pot on our back porch. When they do get to have some, the kitties get the same amount of leaves; however, Moo receives her portion all at once and Einstein receives his one at a time, otherwise he will inhale his portion and all of Moo’s too!
The first two books of the Einstein and Moo series are Einstein and the Leaf and Moo and the Case of the Mistaken Identity, and coming soon will be a coloring book based on the series.

Author Vicki Batman Adventure!

Standard

Good Day Folks,

Today I have the honor of introducing Vicki Batman. She is quite the character enjoy the adventure of getting to know award winning author Vicki Batman and check out her books.

vicki batman picture mayVicki Batman May 2015 Tour

BIO: Award-winning author, Vicki Batman, has sold many romantic comedy works to the True magazines, several publishers, and most recently, a romantic comedy mystery to The Wild Rose Press. She is a member of Romance Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and several writing groups.
An avid Jazzerciser. Handbag lover. Mahjong player. Yoga practioner. Movie fan. Book devourer. Cat fancier. Best Mom ever. And adores Handsome Hubby.
Most days begin with her hands set to the keyboard and thinking “What if??”

LET’S CHAT: How much of your personality and life experiences are in your writing? So much so, my men are afraid anything they say or do will show up. My heroine loves handbags, chocolate, and Jeeps—just like me.

What kind of research do you do for a book? It depends. So far, the funniest has been about plumbing and fruitcake. For Temporarily Employed, I researched stolen car parts, insurance, cops. It helps to be mostly right.

When did you first think about writing and what prompted you to submit your first ms? I wished for a long time I could write mysteries like Dick Francis; yet, it took me twenty years to try. Wish I had begun sooner. Maybe my ideas needed to percolate.

Tell us about your romantic comedy mystery, Temporarily Employed. What motivated the story? Where did the idea come from? A friend challenged me to write the opening paragraph of a book using the word window. I used it and a lot more. My muse worked me for eight more chapters. I showed what I had to my friend and she said for me to continue.

Do you feel humor is important in fiction and why? I do. For me, writing humor in my stories comes naturally. And it is more real life. I’m not a doom and gloomy person. I select specific words for a funny result and write humorous dialogue.

What is your writing routine once you start a book? An idea goes Bing! And I take off, usually in dialogue with a smattering of the other stuff as it pops in my head. My first draft is very, very rough. I read over and over and edit and edit to get it perfect for my critique partner. When I get my critique back, I’d hoped all would be good to go, but alas, it never is. So I work and work it again. Then one day, I let go…

What do you do to relax and recharge your batteries?
Sounds crazy but I always workout. Every single day. I do needlepoint and chill in front of the TV with Handsome.
vicki batman book cover mayBLURB for Temporarily Employed: New Job. New Love. And Murder. Hattie Cook’s dream job is down the toilet and her new SUV violated. Desperate for cash to cover the basic necessities of rent and food, she takes a temporary job where she uncovers an embezzling scam tied to the death of a former employee–the very one she replaced.

When the police determine there’s more to the death of a former Buy Rite employee, Detective Allan Charles Wellborn steps in to lead the investigation. Overly dedicated, always perfect, he puts his job first, even if doing so ultimately hurts the one he loves.

Can the killer be found before Hattie’s time is up?

Children’s and YA Author Saoirse O’Mara Adventure!

Standard
Good Day Folks,
Today I am so looking forward to sharing about talented children’s and YA author Saoirse . O’Mara. She writes wonderful adventure tales for ages 5-18. check it out.

Saoirse O’Mara is a freelance writer of children’s and YA fantasy.

She lives in Germany with her sweetheart and works as freelance editor,

translator, and language teacher whenever she isn’t writing.

“I first started writing when I had figured out how to build words

out of these weird shapes we call letters. My probably strongest

memory of an early written piece is from fourth grade, when

My next strong memory, and my first finalized manuscript,

was an adventure book for children, similar to those by Enid Blyton–
my strongest influence back then and my favorite writer for a long time.
I simply loved her Famous Five and Adventure series, among others.
I wrote that manuscript when I was twelve or thirteen, and
completely revised and rewrote it again with sixteen.
It’s still sitting on my shelf and on my hard-drive,
and I think apart from my mom, no one has ever read it.
It’s nothing to show around (I’m sure my writing style back then was awful),
but it is certainly something to be proud of. I started

and finished a complete manuscript.
I don’t remember when I started reading fantasy

but it must have been pretty early on.
With twelve, I read my first book in English (I’m a German native)–
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, followed by
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets…and then Lord of the Rings.
Yes, I went from a children’s book to High Fantasy
with lots of difficult-to-read descriptions. To be honest,
I’m still not sure I actually understood all of the story
and scenery, but I managed to read through the whole trilogy
and was hooked enough that I bought
and read The Hobbit a year later during a vacation in London.”

I wrote a short theatre play that was almost shown at a school festival.
I don’t remember anymore what prevented the show,
but I still remember clearly how we practiced for weeks in our breaks.

Micheal Rivers, Verliege Adventure!

Standard

Good Day Folks,

Today I am honored to introduce award winning mystery/thriller author Micheal Rivers.  The book adventure is his spine-tingling ghost story Verliege.

micheal rivers picture

BESTSELLING PARANORMAL THRILLER AUTHOR MICHEAL RIVERS won 1st Place Runner up at The Paranormal Awards 2014 and has won Supernatural Book of the Year 2012.

Micheal Rivers is the pseudonym for Mike Baugham. His Cherokee heritage prompted him to honor his great-grandfather and write under the name of Rivers. He grew up near the Outer Banks of North Carolina. His love of the sea and all it has to offer was the driving force of his first novel The Black Witch. As a child, he became aware of the supernatural world due to several experiences. A recognized authority as a paranormal investigator with more than thirty years of research, teaching classes and giving speeches provides his readers with some of his experiences woven into his paranormal thrillers. He is the lead investigator for the Smokey Mountain Ghost Trackers.

His works include supernatural thrillers, literary fiction and ghost story anthologies published by Schiffer Publishing. Micheal is a USMC veteran and served during Vietnam. The passions in his life are his wife, family, Boxer Delilah affectionately known as DeeDee, and the great outdoors.

Book Blurb 71zpqULEcHL

Verliege, a chilling paranormal and international crime mystery, begins at Arlette Mansion in the mountains of West Virginia. Prisoner and author Adrian Bolt was transferred there accused of the horrific murder of his wife. She was found brutally murdered by an antique sword. His conviction by a German court was as swift as the sword that killed her. Adrian had not spoken since her death …until… Dr. James Pellitere was able to break his silence.

A deal was offered to Pellitere. Traveling to Germany with a paranormal investigative team they searched for evidence that would clear Adrian and prove him innocent. While at the castle, Pellitere is confronted by the supernatural residents. A battle begins over the secret of the nine and a prophecy is in jeopardy of becoming unfulfilled.

Praise for Verliege

“I was reminded of Gilman’s “The Yellow Wallpaper” (1892) and William Hope Hodgson’s accounting of the final voyage of the Mortzestus (1909), and the telling of Lovecraft’s “The Statement of Randolph Carter” (1919). Such is the narrative of this in comparison with these types of confessional stories. Like Gilman, Hodgson, and Lovecraft, the richness of dialog is not lacking in Rivers’s prose. The creatures of Verliege have some similarities with Tim Powers’s nephilim in The Stress of Her Regard, but without the vampiric tendencies. I hope the reader realizes that I am tossing out these comparisons to illustrate the depth of craft honed in Verliege. Rivers does not so much stand upon the shoulders of of these giants as he rubs elbows with them.”

March Reading Month Adventure!

Standard

10672063_696445830440443_7679188720990872076_n Good Day Folks,

March is reading month. Most schools have fun themes to get kids reading. Ask your kids what the reading theme is this year and their reading goals. Then set aside time every day, or a couple times during the week, for everyone to sit down and read.  Even if it is only 15 minutes you will be amazed how many pages you can read in 15 minutes. Then discuss what is happening in your book, newspaper, magazine etc. at dinner, driving or after you are done reading each night. Reading is a exciting adventure for all.  Just a reminder I have five magical adventure books available on Amazon and Barnes and Nobles for children ages 7-12. They are illustrated chapter books and read much like a graphic novel for children.  11016750_10153590331943056_825247650_nTell us what your or your children’s reading adventure for March reading month.

Raven Adventures!

Standard

Good Day Folks!

I love ravens.  raven grand canyonI was looking through my pictures from our December trip to Arizona to spend Christmas with Grandma and Grumpa. We went through many states  and had a ball at our stops on the way. It actually took us five days to get to Arizona since we stopped in New Mexico to visit our fabulous relatives and had fun. Then we went to 4 corners stood in four states. Met Grandma and Grumpa at the Grand Canyon for two days then G&G took us on a scenic route to there winter home in Arizona. It was a super special holiday adventure.

Along the way every day I noticed a Raven would stop in and say hi to me. I only was able to capture two pictures. One is at a  rest area in NM raven at stop 1NMand the other in the tree was outside our room at the Grand Canyon. Both chatted me up. I knew the trip was going to be fabulous after seeing my first Raven at a rest area in Indiana. The raven in Indiana showed me the tree with the skull on the tree.  IMG_2830Pretty cool. Ravens are on my mind today. I see them often during my walks at home talking to me. And I always smile and say hello thanks for stopping by. They are an important creature in my novel I am working on called the New Moon Brethren and book 6 of my children’s series Magic Carousel.

My first encounter and where I started paying attention to Ravens occurred while we were living in Iceland. Our first flat in the morning and other times during the day. I would look out my kitchen window above the sink. There would be this raven sitting on the railing on the outside deck. We had this wonderful large deck off our flat it wrapped around, east, west and south of our flat along the living room/dining area and to the right outside my kitchen. This raven would greet me every morning and ca ca and I would smile, say good morning and listen. I think he was a male he was pretty big and  and colors would reflect on his shiny black feathers.  I told my friend Rannveig  during coffee snack time one day that this raven visits me nearly every morning and sometimes other times during the day and chats out my kitchen window. Her eyes lit up and she told me I was lucky.  He is sharing the latest gossip. Never heard anyone tell me Raven’s were good luck before. After she left I did some research on them. I found out many cultures believe they do show up to let folks know what is going whether it is good or tragic news. They know things.

Well my son was finishing up 1st grade and was speaking Icelandic well enough and would not need special classes to assist with Icelandic anymore so he would have to go to the school near our flat or we would have to find a flat to rent near the school he was attending down by the harbor. In Akureryri , Iceland one school in the city teaches foreign children Icelandic. Once they become fluent enough then they go to their neighborhood school. James did not want to switch schools. So we started looking for a flat near the school. Akureyri does not list rentals like we do in the U.S and realtors don’t have that information either. So, it was becoming a challenge. Our lease was expiring so we had to decide to sign for another year or move James to the school up the street. We really wanted to find a flat near the school he was at. He had made many friends and already adjusted to our move to Iceland and was speaking and reading in Icelandic.

So, one day I look out my window there is my raven friend. He is going on and on. I look at him and ask him how can I find a rental down by the harbor. He chats and flies away. I get dressed and get ready to go out to the store. I hear the raven. He is on the deck talking and excited. I get in the car and he takes off. I follow him. He is flying down towards the harbor. Leads me to a big yellow house, he lands on  a red railed deck facing the school across the street that James attended and the fjord that leads to the harbor.  He ca’s and flies off towards the fjord. yellow-house-we-are-moving-to I told a friend about it . She informed me,the people who own the top flat are looking for someone to lease it they are moving to Sweden for a job. She contacted the family and the next day we went to look at it. It was a bigger and a beautiful flat. You come in at the bottom with large place to hang many coats, shelf for hats, gloves, and shoe racks. Then walk a few feet to the stairs. The entire upstairs was a huge flat. Perfect for us. James was so happy he just had to walk across the street to school. My twins, soon to be three year old loved the playground. My husband would just grab the bus up to the University for his job. I enrolled the girls at preschool down a couple blocks. I started writing my magical tales at this home. We were closer to everything, we walked everywhere. Had many gatherings at this home as well. We could see the fishing ships and cruise ships come down the harbor. We would walk down to take a look. The best part the raven often stopped to visit me on the red railing of the deck at this flat too. I thanked him and fell in love with these wonderful creatures.

Hope you enjoyed my raven adventure.
