Today our Wondrous Wednesday Adventure is Petal the Owl by Joy Findlay. It is a delightful nature adventure. Your preschooler will adore Petal the Owl, as she investigates her surroundings and discovers how wonderful nature is. All five of these books are a fun.  You and your child will learn with Petal about summer, winter, nature, colors and counting. The illustrations are vibrant and full of color, patterns and shapes. It will engage you and child in conversation of things they see in the illustrations. I think preschoolers would have you read these books over and over. Early readers would enjoy reading these books too. I highly recommend this compilation of Petal the Owl books. You also can buy them individually on amazon.com. “As a fulltime mother of two gorgeous pre-schoolers, a career in Television and Video Production was no longer an option. Wonderous Wednesday Children Adventures!

Good Day Folks,

Today I am starting Wondrous Wednesdays. I will show case a children’s story every Wednesday.

My first children’s book adventure to report on is Jaimie Hope’s book The Adventures of Baby Jaimie; Baby Jaimie Goes to the Hospital. Published by Anchor Group Publishing.

This book will be available on amazon October 22nd.

Baby Jaimie is a delightful child who nearly always has a positive attitude and nothing stops her from moving forward. Not even her wheel chair.

In this story she is excited that summer vacation is going to start and has many plans. But those plans are halted by an illness. She is disappointed and must face her fears of going to the hospital for surgery. With the support of her family and friends she overcomes her fears and pain and bravely conquers her fear. She plays with the other children in the hospital, asks questions about her care. Yes her summer vacation is delayed a few days.  Baby Jaimie leads you down the positive path that tomorrow she will be ready to enjoy her fun adventures.The author draws you in with children’s real fears they have about life’s troubles. She addresses those troubles honestly while entertaining you or a child at the same time. I highly recommend this book for all children. Because all children like to have fun but at the same time children have troubles that they want to understand. Baby Jaimie Adventures series  addresses children’s concerns.

I have been a huge fan of Jodi Stone’s sweet stories for a couple of years now. We met at a different publisher. And now are together again at Anchor Group Publishing.I love the Stone sisters adventures.

I have compared her books to Pinkalicious series. I think Jodi’s stories are better and more entertaining and always has a subtle life lesson.

In Savannah’s Story: Savannah is bored  and goes to her dollhouse and makes a wish.  All of a sudden she is playing inside the doll house and having a wonderful time. How many

of us wanted to play in our doll houses.

I see it with my own girls. They play for hours with their dollhouses. I listen to their imaginations while they play. What wonderful fun they have in their doll houses. And like the story it is time to go home and be

with the family and have fun with them too. My girls love Jodi’s illustrations and her stories. Bravo my friend you have done it again. Yes we must always remember to believe in magic it is all around us and is

what makes dreams come true.

Savanah’s Story is a 5 star read. If you have a little girl in your house they would love this story.

I have been having a grand adventure with Anchor Group Publishing. Just finished final edits for James Saves the Moon face lift, with Melissa the editor who is great to work with. Next step formatting and adding the illustrations to the manuscript. I am told it may release sometime in 2012. I am very excited it was first scheduled for sometime in January 2013.

Very aggressive group at Anchor with  Captain Stacey Rourke at the helm and a talented writer herself. It is turning out to be smooth sailing with this group.

Since Joining Anchor Group I have downloaded every book they have published and started reading them.

I have read

Golden by Monika Pardon. I loved this book. Begins with a young gal at her Grandmother’s funeral. Everyone is against her for some reason, she cannot trust anyone. Then an encounter with three bears. Yes three bears. She has been changed into something and finds out how important she is to the world or worlds. A lot for this young lady to take on. Not to give away anymore of the story.  I recommend this good read. It was fun and a clever way to find out what happens after an encounter with three bears. The rest of the story so to speak. Down load today you will enjoy the adventure.

Suspenseful, well written and a truly updated ghost story that fits modern times.

In her second novel, Ms. Sloat, once again delvers  an excellent read. Her main characters are well developed and plot line is excellent. The story was well revealed and the side characters were well written. They drew out her characters and plot, without overshadowing the main point.

Ms. Sloat’s themes were eloquently woven together and she finished them off in an elegant bow. I look forward t more from Ms. Sloat and highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great ghost story to read over the summer.

I thoroughly enjoyed, Mrs. Sloat’s novel, “The Many Lives of Avery Snow”. It was intriguing from the first page. Mrs. Sloat does an excellent job with character and relationship development. The author draws you into the plot, where a young adult, Avery, begins to recall her previous lives and the meetings with her soul mate in each one. Avery starts to think she is hallucinating when Angels start appearing in her life and she starts having visions. Mrs. Sloat, does an excellent job of portraying the feelings and emotions that accompany the relationships in the books drawing the reader into the story. We wind up being caught in the ever present battle between good and evil.  She builds up to the climax with climbing anticipation, although I felt there was a little missing in some of the characters that showed up at the cabin. The final chapters, that tie everything together are well organized and compelling. They give a tremendous sense of satisfaction without compromising the plot or the point.

Overall I thought this is an excellent, easy read. Mrs. Sloat does a terrific job of integrating the powers of angels and demons, but could have expanded a little more on the psychic realms. Her novel stresses the concept of past lives, and everlasting love without over dramatizing or farfetched logic. Her characters are her strong point, as is her overall plot development.
