Helga Returns
StandardGood Evening Folks,
What a evening it is. The moon is so awesome tonight. The moon has been big and bright all week Its the type of moon people write about. I know I did with my first book James Saves the Moon published by Solstice Publishing.
Let me know what inspires you to create
The moon appears low, so it looks like it is touching a mountain, tree, seas, lakes, and buildings. It no wonder the pagans believe the moon beams have healing powers. I went out and asked the moon goddess to heal me tonight.Go out take and look and close your eyes and feel the healing of the moon beams. Then look at the moon and you will feel better. I do.
I have other good news. Friday in the afternoon, I received the contract for my second book. Helga Returns will be published by Solstice Publishing.
I was so excited. My illustrator Kelly Murray is happy about it too. She has friends who are ready to buy the book. So cool. Kelly and I are working on the third book. She has finished the cover for that one too. The cover is the best. I love it! I have to get back to writing this book. Get some moon beams you will feel better. Good Evening, WB

Special Message That Made My Day
StandardHello Folks,
Discovered a sweet message in the other folder in message area on facebook dated September 20th. I sent a copy of James Saves the Moon to the sweet older gentleman who lived in the flat next to us in Iceland. He was like a Grandpa to my kids. His name is Gudmunder. He was thanking me for the book and said it was well written. Made my day. I really miss him. Like the majority of Icelanders he loved children and enjoyed having us live next door. He is featured in chapter 2 of my book, James Saves the Moon.
He use to have James my son who was 7 at the time visit him. They would chat and he would always have a sweet pastry treat for James. He was kind to my twin daughters too but they were shy and only 2. My son’s bedroom shared a wall with his flat. Our floor the second, only had two flats, we had this cool circular stairway that led out down out of the building. Our flat had a beautiful view of the fjord, downtown, and the mountains. Our liveing room and dining room had one entire wall just windows. My girls had a view of the mountains and my son’s room on the opposite side of the girls had a view of the fjord, other mountains where we would usually see the moon above or on the mountains. We could also watch the ships come in the harbor. It was fabulous. It brought back happy times and a less stressful life style where children can come and go any time. Babies left on the door stoop in prams for their naps.Folks just stop by and have coffee, chat and a treat. My son remembers the nice gentleman and that he is a pilot and had model airplanes. After being back in the states for nearly six years now, I did not realize how stressful our lives are here. All the silly things we worry about. Why we have to be so busy, it just seems we do not have time to enjoy life with this worry go go life here.
Gundmunder is featured again in the third book I am currently writing Tomfoolery and Yule Lads of Iceland.
Still waiting for a contract from Solstice Publishing for my second book Helga Returns.
Anyway I hope to return some day and see all my wonderful friends in Iceland again. Maybe I can have a book signing there. How Fun that would be.

Get out and enjoy the adventure of each day Bles, WB
Love this opening
StandardLove this opening
StandardGood Day, I am writing and thought I would share this from the 1st chapter. Can’t wait for Kelly to make the illustration for this. Now back to chapter 3.
Have a great day, WB
“James jumps off his bed and races to the window and opens the both sides of the window. Its Matthias or Matt as James calls him the blue dragon and Syvok is standing on his back holding on to the golden shiny rope. Syvok dressed in green vest, brown pants and shirt, and his funny Robin Hood hat with ear flaps down over his pointy ears, jumps into James’s room. James steps back as Matt hangs his head in the window. They both ask “What are you doing?” The turquoise streaks in the in the dark day sky is the dragonets Alexandria and Bethany looping around like antique planes. “Hi,” says James. He waves to the dragonets and enjoys watching the dragonet zooming around like dancing northern lights in the sky. The Dragonet’s tip their wings in salute to James. It’s December so its dark 24 hours a day in Akureyri, Iceland and the dragons glitter and shine against the darkness. James is excited this means another adventure in the near future.”

Review Anissa Part One
Standard
Good Evening , Anissa part one written by XchylerConn just recently posted on Solstice Publishing. This is going to be a free series you can down load. First I would like to say I love the cover. The cover intices me to look further into the book. The intro was gripping and I wanted to know more, what is going on, why is she confused.
I found Chapters 1 through 4 quite intriguing and interesting. Its is spooky and eerie . I want to know more about all the players. What is a question asked by Rachelle. Do you know what? She asked. I want to know what does it mean Anissa is the key to the Gate and what lays beyond the gate. I want to know who really is the good guys and bad guys. The ending is a good cliff hanger. Can’t wait for part two. I recommend this quick read and get into the Halloween spirit. Bye for now, WB

Learned what widgets are yesterday
StandardLearned what widgets are yesterday
StandardGood Evening Folks,
Widgets. Widgets are a way to link data to your blog or website. I discovered this while investigating wordpress features. My question why not just call them add ons for side bars? So I have successfully added with widgets my facebook link, twitter link, a picture of me with holding my book James Saves the Moon. I need sales big time. Only sold one book this summer. Elementary Children love this story. If you have a son, nephew, grandson named James they will really enjoy the story. And a dragon on every picture.

James Saves the Moon by Wendy Nystrom: This is for the younger kids. My 5 year old LOVED having me read this to him. And he loved finding a dragon in every picture. The story is adorable, and teaches some too. My son learned about Iceland, and he learned that nothing is ever out of reach, if you try hard enough, and believe it can be done! I loved it! 5 of 5 stars!
Simplistic Halloz Books has agreed to review my book. I hope they like it. Here is their link. http://www.simplistik.org/shbooks/?page_id=50

Reasearch Research
AsideGood Day,
I am just rolling along writing then boom need information. This leads to research. Research is vital to most stories. One of my good Icelandic pals and faboulous teacher, Rannveig helped with with some details on the Yule Lads, and some good links. I found a couple of other good links as well. Who could not love the Christmas time fun of the Yule Lads and their evil Mom and Lazy Father. Don’t forget the mean scary black cat. It is a perfect folk tale during the cold dark months in Iceland and else where. Enjoying the adventure with James and Syvok. Here is the Yule Lads.

1.Stekkjastaur– Stiffy Legs
2. Giljagaur- Gully Jumper

10. Gluggagægir- Window Peeper
11. Gáttaþefur- Door Sniffer
12. Ketkrókur- Meat Hook
13. Kertasníkir- Candle Stealer
Grýla– Hag their Mother who is hungry and likes to eat children, but her sons never bring any back from their travels down the mountain.
