Doll House Adventure “Savannah’s Story by Jodi Stone

Standard

Good Day Folk,

http://www.amazon.com/Savannahs-Story-Jodi-Stone/dp/0988270730/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1350055795&sr=1-4&keywords=jodi+stone

I have been a huge fan of Jodi Stone’s sweet stories for a couple of years now. We met at a different publisher. And now are together again at Anchor Group Publishing.I love the Stone sisters adventures.

I have compared her books to Pinkalicious series. I think Jodi’s stories are better and more entertaining and always has a subtle life lesson.

In Savannah’s Story: Savannah is bored  and goes to her dollhouse and makes a wish.  All of a sudden she is playing inside the doll house and having a wonderful time. How many

of us wanted to play in our doll houses.

I see it with my own girls. They play for hours with their dollhouses. I listen to their imaginations while they play. What wonderful fun they have in their doll houses. And like the story it is time to go home and be

with the family and have fun with them too. My girls love Jodi’s illustrations and her stories. Bravo my friend you have done it again. Yes we must always remember to believe in magic it is all around us and is

what makes dreams come true.

Savanah’s Story is a 5 star read. If you have a little girl in your house they would love this story.

We are going to have some fun at Jodi Stone’s Savannah’s Story Launch Party starting at 6pm eastern time come join us.

member of the Harris family. Her friends call her Millie, but when she
writes in her diary she refers to herself as Amanda – the name she
always wished she had.

When Millie’s younger brother finds her
diary on her computer, he decides to publish it as a blog for the entire
world to see, including the boy Millie has a crush on. In the midst of
all the mayhem, Millie/Amanda discovers she is suddenly Springside
Elementary’s most sought after sixth-grade mystery gossip and advice
columnist.

But not all is fun and games, as Millie quickly
learns, once she realizes feelings are at stake. Nobody, least of all
Millie, expects things to turn out as they do in this tale of friendship
and respect.

Next up is Ethan’s Story: My life with Autism, By Ethan Rice

http://www.amazon.com/Ethans-Story-Life-With-Autism/dp/098553852X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344519132&sr=8-1&keywords=ethans+story+my+life+with+autism

This book is written from an child’s point of view and Ethan did a fabulous job  relating his story.  The book is colorful and fun. While at the same time teaches us the struggles and misunderstanding of children with autism. My girls read the book and thought it was quite interesting. They have an autism program at their school. And at times would come home and ask why did a AI child to this or that. After reading the book and being exposed properly at school they now have a better understanding and realize these children have the same struggles as they do in school. They  just have a different way it is portrayed in the public.  I found this read insightful, fun and interesting. And Yes Ethan we are the way we are and its a good thing we all have special gifts and struggle. I am purchasing this book for our schools Autistic program at the school. I hope the school will incorporate the book at the school and use it as a learning tool. You can keep up with Ethan’s adventures on Facebook  at https://www.facebook.com/EthansStoryMyLifeWithAutism

Next up in Stacey Rourke’s book Conduit-Gryphon Series. I was going to review Embrace. Conduit is the first in her exciting Gryphon witty series so I decided to start with Conduit.

Friday The 13th a Day of Luck Really!

Standard

Lucky Friday the 13th adventure.

I learned earlier in the week via my lovely children. Every month that starts with a  Sunday there is a Friday the 13th in that month. Always feel lucky when I learn something new.

13 has always been a lucky number for me.13 looks cool too. Many of us begin the adventure of change from child to adult at 13. It is truly a magical number. So enjoy the adventure.

As you know from my previous post. I signed on with Anchor Group Publishing. My books are scheduled to be released in 2013. Two of my kids books have 13. The first one has 13 illustrations and Tomfoolery has 13 Icelandic yule lads and 13 illustrations. I guess Helga Returns just needed 16 illustrations to make the story  come alive.

I am heading out to purchase my 13 lotto tickets.

Have a lucky adventure today. WB

Friday the 13th Love it!

Standard

13 is a number I like. Always been a good and lucky number for me.  Its odd like me.

My girls started out Friday the 13th by petting Fred the Black cat. Poor Fred they mauled him as he was trying to get in from outside. He was delayed taking his early morning nap in the basement. He looked at them as if they were insane. When they were done he zoomed down to the basement to sleep in the saucer chair he likes facing the stairs.

Two of my Books have 13 illustrations. James Saves the Moon has 13 including the cover.

Tomfoolery and 13 Yule Lads of Iceland has 13 illustrations, 13 yule lads and 13 chapters.

I should have paid more attention to Helga Returns and made sure there were 13 illustrations in that book too. Hindsight is 20/20.

All three of my kids books will be released late June or early July in e book and print. Pretty excited about that!

My novel I am working on New Moon Brethren probably will have 13 in there somewhere.Maybe I will have the wolf child become the leader and will unite the packs on Friday the 13th under the new moon that the New Moon Brethren have been raising and protecting since his parent died.

All if all on this Friday the 13th I have having a grand day.

I purchased 13 potted flowers today. 10 went to the front of the local elementary. 3 in a pot in the front of my house.

A student at the university contacted me and wanted my opinions for an essay she is writing about  children’s literature. This is a honor. A  professor to send her my direction.  I just happen to have written a  couple of children’s books I would not consider myself an expert on the subject. I answered the questions and enjoyed myself. I always like being in touch with the students.

I have been reading many submissions and enjoying this too.

All and all I would say Friday the 13th is a very good day for me and I petted Fred the Black Cat too. I of course waited until he was done with his nap and demanded attention by jumping on my desk and sticking his head over the top of my monitor.

Don’t forget to check out Aprils Edition of Supporting Authors One Read At A Time Magazine. Some real good articles.  http://www.wonderfulreadofthemonth.blogspot.com/

I am off to buy 13 lotto tickets.

Enjoy 13 things and 13 adventures today. WB

Review Princess Stories by Jodi Stone and Tidbits

Standard

Happy Friday All,

I really enjoyed reading Princess Stories by Jodi Stone. This book has two sweet stories that girls ages 5 to 8 would love to read or have read to them. They would also be good stories to read to our little princesses before bed.

The first book is called Confessions of a Pre-Teen Beauty Queen about a little girl who wakes up with a crown on her head.  The second book is called Ballerina Princess about a little girl who is nervous about her ballet try outs.

Both books are delightful, they both rhyme and flow just like little girls enjoy doing while the main characters Brook and Grace solve their dilemmas. It is a quick fun read. The books make you feel like you are there with them in the room. The illustrations are fun and my girls enjoyed reading and looking at the pictures. I highly recommend this book.  This book is available  at amazon.com and solsticepublishing.com  as are other stories written by Jodi Stone. Collect them all
