 Good Day Folks,

487958_10152105377558056_470157528_n First I want to let you all know my ebooks are all on sale The sale ends October 1. Links are below. I thought I would share something I have discovered about authors. When most of submit us our books to reviewers, we all of sudden become nervous wrecks. I do. While I wait all of sudden I am insecure about my writing. It does not matter how many say I love your books, or my kids love your books. It does not matter we are waiting for that one review that will crush us for a little while. These are the emotions I go through.

They will hate, the story is to long, they catch some grammatical error,  etc.  This will be the one where a nice reviewer emails me and says I really do not like your story so will not review instead of posting a 1 star review. Then I  try to convince myself it I can only learn from this and do better. These are the thoughts I have and I know many others do. Authors are a insecure bunch.  But this is good, it makes us better writers.

Well so far I have be very blessed. None of these images in my head have come true.  My reviews have been outstanding and criticisms have been very helpful. I want to thank all who take the time to review, share and spread the word that children will love my stories and hopefully let them explore the adventure.

“The color of the illustrations by Jim Weidman and the very well-written story by Wendy Nystrom make “James Saves the Moon” a rare treasure for a children’s picture book.

The biggest advantage of adventure stories is that they encourage children to think and be imaginative. It gives them the freedom to dream, experiment, think differently, and create their own characters. I found the little trolls and dragonets very interesting and they add to the whimsical quality of the story.”

Murder on Mars by M.M Shelley Adventure

Standard

Murder On Mars BannerGood Day Folks,

Murder On Mars Button It is my pleasure to review Murder on Mars by M. M. Shelley. All I can say is what a spectacular reading adventure. I love mysteries and this book is jam packed with mysteries. This is a murder mystery with a twist because it takes you on and adventure on the real streets of New Orleans and the Shadow Streets of New Orleans.  What more can I say well plenty. Ava a young gal receives a message her best friend Dyson is missing. Then a body amongst other bodies are found. Is Dyson one of the them or not. Ava must unravel the mystery to Dyson’s disappearance. Then add paranormal twist to it with the shadow world.  Ava discovers much about herself and that she can see the shadows. She can travel the streets in  both worlds. As she unravels the mysteries and players she also is discovering aspects of herself and her history. She is young and discovers she is one tough gal.  The author does good job with the transitions. It is a page turner for sure. I just loved it. I look forward to reading other books by M.M. Shelley and the next one that may give us more details about Ava’s background and secrets she is unraveling about herself. I want to know more. Keep up the good work M.M. Shelley.

Murder On Mars

(A New Orleans Mystery)

Synopsis: A paranormal force has lured Ava to New Orleans, where shadows lurk behind every corner and an unknown power has yet to be unleashed. There is a darkness in New Orleans, one that has brought sixteen year old Ava Lopez to the city in search of her best friend, Dyson. A dark crime has been committed, and there are supernatural forces involved. Three sisters who whisper “fate” are awaiting the arrival of the Guardian. Shadow People fiercely haunt the city, unchallenged, but Ava senses that Dyson may be involved with their crimes. She must discover the secret that the Shadows are so determined to keep hidden. Ava will have to risk everything, because where the Fates are concerned there are no second chances.

AG Book Club Adventure~ Golden and Ethan’s My Life with Autism

Standard

Good Day Folks,

I am having a grand adventure at Anchor Group Publishing book club. This month  we had two books to read, enjoy and report on.

Ethan's Story My Life with Autism Just click on the cover to take you to the amazon link.

The first book is a Children’s book called Ethan’s Story: My Life with Autism

This book is written from an child’s point of view and Ethan did a fabulous job  relating his story.  The book is colorful and fun. While at the same time teaches us the struggles and misunderstanding of children with autism. My girls read the book and thought it was quite interesting. They have an autism program at their school. And at times would come home and ask why did a AI child to this or that. After reading the book and being exposed properly at school they now have a better understanding and realize these children have the same struggles as they do in school. They  just have a different way it is portrayed in the public.  I found this read insightful, fun and interesting. And Yes Ethan we are the way we are and its a good thing we all have special gifts and struggle. I am purchasing this book for our schools Autistic program at the school. I hope the school will incorporate the book at the school and use it as a learning tool. You can keep up with Ethan’s adventures on Facebook  at http://www.facebook.com/EthansStoryMyLifeWithAutism

Golden - Monika Pardon The Second book we were given to read was Golden by Monika Pardon

Just click on the cover for link to amazon.

I loved this book. The story begins with a young gal attending her Grandmother’s funeral. Everyone is against her for some reason, she cannot trust anyone. Then while in the woods she has an encounter with three bears. Yes three bears. She has been changed into something and finds out how important she is to the world or worlds. A lot for this young lady to take on she does not really know who to turn to or trust. There is a handsome young man of course but is he on her side or her enemies. Not to give away anymore of the story.  I recommend this good read. It was fun and a clever way to find out what happens after an encounter with three bears in the woods. Down load today you will enjoy the adventure. You can keep up with the author Monika Pardon on facebook at

Good Day Folks,

Today our Wondrous Wednesday Adventure is Petal the Owl by Joy Findlay. It is a delightful nature adventure. Your preschooler will adore Petal the Owl, as she investigates her surroundings and discovers how wonderful nature is. All five of these books are a fun.  You and your child will learn with Petal about summer, winter, nature, colors and counting. The illustrations are vibrant and full of color, patterns and shapes. It will engage you and child in conversation of things they see in the illustrations. I think preschoolers would have you read these books over and over. Early readers would enjoy reading these books too. I highly recommend this compilation of Petal the Owl books. You also can buy them individually on amazon.com. Take a look at other Findlay books as well. Just click on Cover and it will take you to the link on amazon.

A little about the author Joy Findlay ~

“As a fulltime mother of two gorgeous pre-schoolers, a career in Television and Video Production was no longer an option. Having taught the basics of the Moving Image, it was just a matter of transitioning those same skills over to a static medium that was creative and flexible enough to work from home.
Kiki (3) and Zoozoo (4) provide the inspiration and direction for most of the children’s eBooks created under Findlay Books. Their thirst for learning and adventure never ceases to amaze me.
So now, I write and illustrate a line of children’s eBooks especially for my two squidlettes. In the hopes that others actually like them too and would like to let me know, we have set up a website http://www.findlaybooks.com and a facebook page http://www.facebook.com/findlaybooks

Joy Findlay lives in beautiful New Zealand with her husband, her two children and their rescue cat ‘Buddy’.

Wonderous Wednesday Children Adventures! Whiskers and Hair Balls by Maranda Russell

Standard

Good Day Folks,

Today adventure is early reader Whiskers and Hair Balls by Maranda Russell.

Whiskers and Hairballs by Maranda Russell

When my girls were in Kindergarten and 1st grade every book they checked out of the school library was like this one.
It is a fun little read for early readers. Young children love books about animals. Children and Parents will laugh while reading and looking at the funny poses. The pictures depict the daily life of a house cat. Plus to keep your child engaged in reading, their is a list of find this object in the pictures at the end of the book. Children love to find items on pictures.
I think early readers and parents will enjoy this book. I recommend the sweet, fun read.

A little about  Author Maranda Russell~

Maranda Russell (1982-?) was born in Muncie, Indiana, but now resides near Dayton, Ohio. She is a children’s author and book reviewer, a foster parent, a part-time substitute teacher and an enthusiastic lover of cereal and ice cream. She currently writes stories for children based on the experience she has gained as a teacher, foster parent and former child. Of course, the “former” part is questionable since this author still enjoys indulging her “inner child” on a regular basis.

To find out more about this author, her books and the daily challenges of being a writer and a foster parent, please visit her website, http://www.marandarussell.com.

Wonderous Wednesday Children Adventures!

Standard

Good Evening Folks,
Sorry my adventure is being posted so late. I have had one busy day and many interruptions.

Tonight my children’s adventure is a wonderful book about Bullying.

Waffles and Pancakes: A Lesson in Bullying by Cindy Springsteen.

This sweet story has Two hamsters Waffles and Pancakes who are friends. They encounter a Guinea Pig Named Oscar who is not very nice and appears to be a bully. The story also involves the rude behavior of the owner of Oscar towards Waffles and Pancakes owners.  Poor Waffles and Pancakes are so upset that they make themselves ill. Just like many kids do when they encounter bullying. What I like about this book is they work to resolve the bullying by asking questions with out bullying back. They discover their was a reason Oscar was unkind to them as do the owners of the pets with parent helping the boys become friends. I recommend this story for early readers.  It is presented well for ages 4  to 7. This book  is a good story and a good way to bring up the topic of bullying with young children.

Wow, what an adventure. Action never stops.

Finished Spirit by Author Dawn Gray, really enjoyed the story. Exciting story, not what I expected. Zander and Samantha unravel a spooky paranormal mystery. Ms Gray has wonderful supporting characters weaved into the story. I like the cigar smoking Captain always trying to contain the uncontainable.  Paranormal spooks and government spooks what could be better. Oh and throw in a little titillating romance too. Can’t wait to read book 2.   If you liked X-files I am pretty sure you will like this book. Recommend
